Marilyn Monroe passed away August 5, 1962.“This life is what you make it. No matter what, you’re going to mess up sometimes, it’s a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you’re going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends - they’ll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they’re your true best friends. Don’t let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they’ll come and go too. And babe, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can’t give up because if you give up, you’ll never find your soul mate. You’ll never find that half who makes you whole- and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn’t mean you’re gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don’t, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life’s a beautiful thing and there’s so much to smile about.”

Last Saturday, we hoarded books at Greenbelt’s Powerbooks Super Sale! (which will run until August 21 or while extra supplies/copies last).
If my memory serves me right, it was two years ago since I last bought books from the The Wicked Years series of Gregory Maguire. Meanwhile, the last book given to me was The Joke by Milan Kundera, which of course, I still haven’t finished since I spent the last two years working.
So, anyway, as follows are the books acquired from the super sale. In total, the actual total cost of the books should have been around Php 8,012 or more. But we paid only Php 1,535 more or less all in all. Plus, all of the books were in superb condition. You just have to really dig in — I was seating already on the floor coz all of the good books were hidden under the table behind the other piles. Well, there were a few others within plain sight. :)
Great deal, right?
P.S. Forgive me if I didn’t supply you with the necessary background on the books. Well, most of them you probably know, others I still have to read, and lastly, tinatamad ako mag-Google. Hahaha!
